OUR HISTORY

Home and Community Support Services of Grey Bruce was established as a result of an extensive community consultation process to plan the enhancement of community support services through out Grey-Bruce. The planning process was conducted by the Grey-Bruce District Health Council during 1991.

The process began to amalgamate five funded Community Support Services:

Grey/Owen Sound Seniors Resource Centre
  • Home Maintenance Registry
  • Volunteer Transportation
  • Information Referral
Meals on Wheels-Owen Sound
  • 700 volunteers
  • 200 clients
South East Grey Seniors Home Support Program
  • Dining for Seniors
  • Volunteer Transportation
  • Home Help, Friendly Visiting, and Information Referral
Kincardine Day Away Program
  • 2 day/week program
  • 2 staff, 15 clients; 5 volunteers
Grey-Bruce Alzheimers Society
Owen Sound Day Away Program
  • 2 day/week program
  • 4 staff, 31 clients; 27 volunteers
